I remember I was at an MSA Ramadan/Eid festival one year. My siblings were pretty involved in the MSA so even though I wasn’t a student yet, everybody still knew me. I was seated between my family and the Islamic Studies professor (a rather large one in the field). I don’t recall why but during his presentation the president was (re)enforcing the idea of Lowering The Gaze. There was a moment where he made a point that men should lower their gaze with an attractive woman around. Flippantly, and not as quietly as I had thought, I said “Well what about me?” To which, the respected Islam professor turned to me and said “نفس الحاجة” (same thing.)
