בצהרי ה-16 בינואר 2012 התקיימה פעולת מחאה עממית במטעים בשכונת תל רומידה, במהלכה עוכב למספר דקות מתנדב בצלם דיאא אל-חדאד, בן 19, ושוחרר. באותו לילה, הגיעה קבוצת חיילים בפיקוד סגן לבית משפחתו וערכה בו חיפוש. במהלך החיפוש, הצמידו החיילים את דיאא אל הקיר למשך דקות ארוכות. דיאא ואביו, עבד אל-כרים חדאד, תיעדו את האירוע במצלמותיהם. עילת החיפוש אינה ידועה לבצלם, אך ידוע כי בסיומו החיילים לא לקחו דבר מהבית ואיש מהמשפחה לא נעצר.

On the afternoon of 16 January 2012, there was a Palestinian protest in the orchards of the Tel Rumeida neighborhood in Hebron. During the protest, B’Tselem video volunteer Diaa al-Hadad, age 19, was detained for a few minutes and released. That same night, a unit of soldiers commanded by a first lieutenant came to the family’s house and conducted a search. During the search, they made Diaa stand against a wall for quite some time.
Diaa and his father, ‘Abd al-Karim Hadad, documented the incident with their cameras. B’Tselem does not know the reason for the search, but what is known is that the soldiers did not take anything from the house, and no one in the family was arrested.
